Fernando Vivas started his career as a DJ playing at skateboard tournaments.
At the age of 19, Fernando, known as DJ Buey, was already djing at the first massive electronic music events around Buenos Aires.
Firstly identified with drum & bass sounds, until 1999 he paired with fellow DJ Bad Boy Orange in the Buenos Aires Frente Jungle project that helped developing the genre in the city.
From 2000, Buey started carving his own personal style fusing breakbeat, funk and hip-hop with house music. By that time venues such as Odeón and Barfly were the prelude to his performances at Pachá"s globally renowned Clubland nights alongside the likes of Adam Freeland, Circulation, Infusion and Ralph Lawson.
As regards production, since 2002, together with DJ Paul and Federico Stuart, he has been part of BPS, a creative remixing crew specialized in local artists (Pop Art Records released their take on Los Auténticos Decadentes" "Osito de peluche") and commercial jingles. His link with rock is reflected in his live sets in collaboration to percussionist Andrea Alvarez and Los Pericos at the Pepsi Music 2007.
Included in each Creamfields Buenos Aires line-up, in 2004 Buey played at the Drum & Bass Fest that took place at mythical venue Cemento, sharing turntables with Brazilian star XRS. As a monthly guest at Bad Boy Orange"s 160 Drum & Bass Suite, he proves his deep enthusiasm for the sound and eventually plays next to luminaries such as Patife, Bryan Gee or DJ Marky.
During the last two seasons, DJ Buey was invited to play at the disco Cherry Moon in Belgium and played as DJ resident at Quilmes Sessions. He also participated in the NokiaTrends" ArteMotion project, in which many artists traveled throughout Argentina with the purpose of combining technological vanguards with each region"s cultural roots.
Besides, he stills plays house and breakbeat at different clubs in Buenos Aires and the rest of the provinces of Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay, and promotes his wide variety of music every week on his Late Night show broadcasted on Metrodance 95.1 FM.
